Everton will be looking to extend their winning streak at Goodison Park when Newcastle arrive on Merseyside this Monday night.
David Moyes has seen his side record victories in their last six Premier League home matches, scoring 19 times and conceding just once in the process.
Manchester United suffered defeat at Goodison Park on the opening day of the season, whilst Moyes’ men ran out comfortable 3-1 winners at Villa Park.
The only set back so far came at the Hawthorns, losing 2-0 to West Brom Albion.
Newcastle have picked up 5 points from a possible 9, drawing 1-1 with Aston Villa last time out.
The game will have a bit of extra spice to it, following comments Alan Pardew made last season which claimed Newcastle were ‘operating on a different level’ to Everton, comments which riled Moyes and his players before the sides clashed on the final day of last season.
Goalkeeper Tim Krul, defenders Fabricio Coloccini, Danny Simpson and Ryan Taylor as well as midfielder Cheick Tiote and striker Shola Ameobi are all sidelined, and face a race against the clock to be fit for the match.
Krul is the major concern, with the Dutchman currently nursing an injured elbow he hurt on international duty.
Everton’s only injury concerns are Steven Pienner (hip/thigh) and Darron Gibson (groin) after the players both missed their International duty. They are however expected to be fit for Monday.
Prediction: Everton 3-1 Newcastle
